– Further the welfare of the Jewish community
– Plan for the philanthropic, social, cultural, and educational advancement of the Jewish community
– Foster cooperation among local Jewish organizations
– Solicit, collect, and otherwise raise funds forphilanthropic, social, cultural, educational, and religious purposes;
– Contribute, disburse, and distribute the income directly or by contributions to other organizations
• With the same or similar purposes
• Which are tax exempt
– Review and determine the obligations, responsibilities,and effectiveness of all agencies requesting appropriations
– Control and budget the disbursements to the beneficiaryagencies
– To coordinate with the fund-raising activities of Jewish agencies

When areactivities of the Federation to take place?
January 1 through December 31
for fund-raising and activities - annual campaign runs from May 1 the December 31
first meeting within14 days of annual meeting
When the Presidentwants (with Board approval)
• A member is a person, 18 years or older, who resides inNebraska andeither:
– Makes a pledge to the annual fund-raising campaign; or
– Is a spouse of a member, as defined above.
• The period of membership shall begin January 1 and endDecember 31
• Upon receipt of a pledge, new members will be notifiedin writing of their membership in the corporation.
• A member shall have the right to vote in annualelections for members of the
